Computer Knowledge: The candidate should have computer knowledge. The Basic Knowledge of computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute. The Certificates from Central Government/ State Government/ University/ Boards etc., will also be acceptable for this purpose. The Computer knowledge certificate shall be relaxable in case of candidates has studied computer as a subject in 10th or 12th Class or higher educational qualification.
Job Residence: The candidate selected for the post of GDS BPM must mandatorily take up his/her residence in the Branch Post Office village within one month after selection but before engagement as Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster. The candidate shall submit a declaration to this effect in the application. The candidate selected for the post of other than GDS BPM should reside in post village/delivery jurisdiction.
Selection Process: The Selection will be made as per the automatic generated merit list. The selection based on 10th Standard Marks aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals will be the criteria for finalizing the selection. No weightage will be given for higher educational qualification. In case candidates get the same marks, the merit order would be taken as DOB(higher age as merit), ST female, SC female, OBC female, UR female, ST Male, SC Male, OBC male, UR male.
Application Fee: ₹ 100/- (for OC / OBC Male Candidates) at any Head Post Office. Candidate who requires to make the payment has to visit any Head Post Office to make the payment. For making the payment candidate should inform Registration Number at the PO Counter. There is no fee for all Female and SC/ST candidates. For applying online candidate should submit the application by providing information of Registration Number (and Fee payment Number once, in case of fee to be paid) to proceed to fill up the subsequent information. Documents once uploaded against one registration number will remain in the server hence for submission of subsequent posts or for other Circles, candidates need not upload any documents further.

Educational Qualifications:
For Postal / Sorting Assistant ->
a) Pass in 10+2 standard or Matric with 12th class pass from recognised University / Board of School Education, Board of secondary education (excluding vocational/JOC streams).
b) Candidates with higher education are also considered but they have to fulfil the requirements mentioned in official notification. There are no bonus marks for higher education.
c) Candidates who have passed 12th standard/10+2 in vocational course or Job Oriented Course (JOC) are not eligible.
d) Having Typing knowledge and Computer Knowledge up to the required standard is desirable. For Postman . Mail Guard ->
a) Matriculation from a recognised Board or University.
b) Candidates with higher education are also considered but they have to fulfil the requirements mentioned in official notification. There are no bonus marks for higher education.
For MTS ->

Sports Qualification:
a) Sportsmen who have represented a State or the country in the National or International competition in the required sports/games.
b) Sportsmen who have represented their university conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in the required sports/games.
c) Sportsmen who have represented the state schools team in the National Sports/Games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in the required sports/games.
d) Sportsmen who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

The Applicants have to enclose a self-addressed envelope, size 9" X 4' duly affixing a postage stamp of ₹ 17/- for local (within Bengaluru address) candidates and ₹ 40/- for outstation candidates (Other than Bengaluru candidates) along with the application for dispatching the Hall Permits for selection trials.
